A photograph of fishing vessels being loaded with supplies in Hua Hin, Thailand. While Hua Hin's beaches and surroundings are not as stunning as many of the other tourist destinations in Thailand, its proximity to Bangkok makes it a popular weekend getaway spot for Thais. The area also has a thriving fishing industry supplying both local and Bangkok seafood markets and restaurants.

The centerpiece of the photograph, the three vessels, are in many way similar, a repeated pattern, yet each has its own distinctive features and there are many details to be discovered that set them apart. The workers to the right, loading the ships with fresh crates, add perspective and interest and lend the image a dynamic the vessels alone lack.

As frequent visitor of Bangkok's many seafood restaurants, this image offers me a welcome glimpse into the supply lines keeping the plates in those restaurants filled with the delicious fish, prawns and crabs I love so much.
