One of the entrances of the Cathedral of Saint Stephen in Metz, a French town close to the tripoint where France, Germany and Luxembourg meet.

Visually the image lives from the strong contrast of light and shadow, emphasizing the magnificent ornaments embellishing the entrance. The sun also illuminates the single, silent observer, standing on the edge between gleam and darkness, which at the same time is the doorstep to a room of faith. She seemingly admires the craftsmanship, relates how small us humans can be next to even our own creations, and thus, unknowingly, also fulfils the intentions of the builders, to let us fathom the greatness of the god in whose name the cathedral was erected.
