Food - an essential part of Thai culture, which, in my humble opinion, offers one of the most exquisite cuisines in the world. For Thais, eating out is more the rule than the exception, with street food stalls and small restaurants to be found everywhere and their offerings of cheap and delicious meals making cooking at home redundant.

The image, taken somewhere in the middle of Bangkok, offers a glimpse into that world. Of course there is obvious line of food carts in the foreground but also many other details are typical for the city, among them the numerous signboards, the chaotic power lines, air conditioning units on the balconies and a forest of antennas and satellite dishes on the roofs.

Having lived in Bangkok for a few years, this image instantly evokes memories in my mind, reminders of the sounds, smells and taste of the city and the streets I loved so much to roam and explore.
