This photograph was taken during a winter walk around the Meierwiese in Mödling, Austria. The misty weather made for a quiet and calm mood, intensifying the feeling of solitude evoked by the single passerby with their dogs and the house sitting alone in the forest, promising refuge from the elements.

The house is known as the "Jägerhaus" and was built as hunting lodge by architect Joseph Hardtmuth for the Prince of Liechtenstein. Now owned by the city of Mödling but having fallen into disarray, it has been lovingly restored at the end of the 1990s by its current tenants and now is a jewel sitting atop of the beautiful Meierwiese at the foot of the Anninger, one of the hills rising around Mödling.
